A striking naturally dyed flatweave rug featuring a geometric pattern and vibrant colours derived from indigo and cochineal, an ancient dye that is derived from cactus-eating insects. The rug is handwoven by a family of artisans using locally sourced wool.

Story

This rug is handwoven by the eldest son of a family of skilled weavers in Teotitlán del Valle. They use locally sourced wool that has been hand dyed using local plant sources including pomegranate and marigold. The entire family knows how to weave, as did their ancestors before them.

Care & Longevity

You can hoover this rug as normal. If you are going to wash it, we recommend dry cleaning, although washing separately on a cold handwash setting should suffice..
