Our Rangrang bedrunners are special and unique Balinese textiles that were traditionally used as costumes for spiritual dance rituals. They are handwoven on backstrap looms by highly skilled artisans on the small island of Nusa Penida. Local plant materials have been used to dye the yarn.
Typical of Rangrang textiles, this one-of-a-kind bedrunner features a diamond pattern. It is suitable for a small double or king-size bed. Note that this bedrunner is wider than some of our other pieces.

Story

Our Rangrang bedrunners are handwoven by a family of highly skilled weavers on the tiny island of Nusa Penida. They are one of the few families that still specialise in making these special textiles, that were traditionally used as ritual dance costumes. Rangrang is created using a complicated slit tapestry weave technique that leaves small holes in the cloth, said to connect the dancers with deities. The tend to feature bold geometric patterns with yarns that have been dyed from local plant sources. Each design is from the weavers themselves.
