A one-of-a-kind, reversible vintage kantha quilt that was handstitched from recycled sari fabric in Bangladesh, India. It features hand-blockprint patterns to both the front and reverse.

Story

Kantha is the Indian ancient tradition of patchworking by way of handstitching rags together, usually with a simple running stitch. Historically used by women in rural villages to recycle saris and other worn fabrics, often the same kantha would be passed through the generations, from grandmother to daughter and so on. This particular quilt has also been hand-blockprinted with carved wooden blocks.

We suggest hanging this quilt outside to freshen before washing. You can also wash it minimally by hand and with cold water.
